President, NPNY
As a director of the nation’s first nurse‑run, nurse‑managed health center within an academic institution, Audrey witnessed firsthand the unnecessary vulnerability created by written practice agreements (WPAs) between nurse practitioners (NPs) and physicians—and how these outdated requirements impede timely access to care. Since 2010, she has led grassroots advocacy efforts to advance Full Practice Authority for New York State NPs. Audrey currently serves as President of Nurse Practitioners of New York (NPNY), where she previously co‑chaired the Advocacy & Policy Committee. She also volunteers with AARP New York’s Legislative Patrol and Speakers Bureau, extending her commitment to public education and policy engagement. A recognized trailblazer, Audrey was among the first NPs in New York State to directly credential with private insurers—Cigna in 2010 and Blue Cross Blue Shield in 2011—helping pave the way for broader NP participation in commercial insurance networks. Her clinical background spans family and women’s health, cardiothoracic surgery critical care, and service as a CCNE Clinical Onsite Evaluator. Audrey envisions NP entrepreneurship as a powerful strategy to reduce preventive‑care hesitancy and expand cost- effective equitable access to high‑quality primary care.
