LOCUMS - Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner New

Location: Upstate New York. Less then one hour drive to Albany (State Capital) and Sarasota Spring (Resort Area). Three hours north of New York City.

Facility: Family Community Mental Health Center

Incorporated as a not-for-profit, community mental health service agency in 1976. The agency was established as a result of a cooperative effort among community clergy, human service professional and civic minded individuals who worked on a voluntary basis. In the first four years of it’s establishment, the agency’s mission was to answer the community’s need for individual, marriage, and youth counseling for those who were slipping through the cracks..

The agency has continued to grow over the years, opening a satellite clinics as well as off-site locations for family treatment, the agency’s fiscal departments and school based counseling.

Position: Telepsychiatry or onsite opportunity for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. 50/50 adult and child adolescent patient population. Intakes can be dictated and will be entered into Credible EHR for provider.
Flexible, part time on-going schedule. They are open to 4 days,10 hour days or 5 days, 8 hour days a week. 90 days to start with potential for ongoing.

Searching for provider with at least two years’ experience and comfortable seeing the lifespan. NY Licensed active, pending, or non active.

Typical med review is 20 minutes unless the provider deems it medically necessary and the psychiatric evaluation is usually 1 hour. To start they offer new prescriber a training period for a med review would be scheduled for 30 minutes while they learn the electronic health record.

A provider typically has around 20 appointments scheduled per day depending upon how many med reviews, psychiatric evaluation and if they have scheduled collaboration time with the psychiatrist or other NPs. They do not schedule more than 2-3 psych evaluation in one day.

Compensation: Independent Contractor with hourly rate, weekly pay, and medical malpractice insurance.
