Our exceptional clinicians also work closely with the 60+ members of the Atria Academy of Science & Medicine, top experts in their respective fields who are available for rapid consults, support, and referrals.
About the Role:
We are seeking Advanced Care Providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants) to join our expanding Internal Medicine teams and collaborate closely with our Chief Medical Officers. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care and bring an innovative, forward-thinking approach to their work. Candidates should possess strong internal medicine knowledge and have experience in urgent care, primary care, or family medicine, with a comfort level in treating the adult population.
Essential Job Duties:
- Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants (NPs/PAs) partner with CMOs to perform comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to identify patients' health status and needs. Diagnose acute and chronic health conditions, formulate differential diagnoses, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Treatment and Management: NPs/PAs collaborate with CMO to provide primary and specialty care services, including prescribing medications, ordering, and interpreting diagnostic tests, and implementing therapeutic interventions. Manage chronic conditions, monitor patients' progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
- Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: NPs/PAs educate patients and families about health promotion strategies, disease prevention measures, and lifestyle modifications to improve overall health and well-being. They emphasize preventive care, such as immunizations, screenings, and health maintenance activities.
- Collaborative Care: NPs/PAs collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care effectively. They consult with specialists, refer patients to appropriate healthcare providers, and facilitate continuity of care across healthcare settings.
- Clinical Care: NPs/PAs will be required to perform clinical skills that include but are not limited to; phlebotomy, IV insertion, and EKG. May need to see patients independently for urgent visits on weekends.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping: NPs/PAs maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes. They will assist in completing any forms for patient care such as Radiology questionnaires. They ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Ethical and Legal Compliance: NPs/PAs adhere to ethical principles and professional standards of practice, maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and respect for patients' rights and dignity. They comply with legal and regulatory requirements governing nursing practice, licensure, and scope of practice.
Requirements:
- 4 days X 10 hour shifts
- Availability to work Wednesday through Saturday with flexibility as needed
- Current NYS License required as NP for specialty, or current NYS Licensed PA
- 2+ year’s experience as a practicing NP or PA-C
- BLS & ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Availability to be flexible with weekend coverage
- Thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine (Preferred)
Salary:
- $170,000 - $190,000 per year
