Position Description
Location: Dorchester, MA- no exact address as the client is in the process of selecting a site
Schedule: Mon- Fri 8:30a-4:30p
Salary: $120k- $150k
- Hard requirements: (Must haves): ortho or pain background, strongly desired certification
- Minimum years of experience: 4
- Soft requirements: willingness to be a leader; lots of independent work- supervision once/week
- Software: eClinicalWorks
- Interview process: (ex. how many rounds, in person vs virtual?): 1st round virtual with Brian; and one with pain physician and one with ortho physician
- Reason for opening: opening a new office in Dorchester, MA
- Training period: open to flying candidates down to Georgia (HQ) to do part of their training and see how practices work in places they're established; Training typically lasts 20 days
- NPI # is required
- Daily Patient Flow: projecting 15-20 patients daily
- Staff Mix: (ex: 3 MDs, 3 NPs, 4 LPNs, 2 Mas, etc): 2 MAs, growth will dictate how many new people will be hired
- No surgery element
- joint Injection experience would be beneficial
- Local candidates only
- Physician oversite would be once a week or less
- Physician will always be available by phone
Summary
Client is a rapidly growing medical practice with 7 locations in Gainesville, Decatur, College Park, Sandy Springs, Lilburn, Woodstock, and Marietta. Client is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner preferable with a background in Orthopedics. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Thrive is proud to promote appropriate medical management with limited use of Narcotics in the practice. Thrive serves both insurance and personal injury patients and experience with both patient types is preferred. Experience working with eClinicalWorks EHR is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
- Performing initial and existing patient exams and screening evaluations.
- Assesses patient health by obtaining and reviewing medical histories, performing physical examinations and evaluations.
- Determines appropriate diagnostic tests, as well as prescribing and interpreting such tests.
- Document patient care services by dictating notes and charting diagnoses and fees in patient records.
- Possibly performing therapeutic procedures by administering trigger point injections and prescribing necessary medications
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Consult and coordinate with the practice physicians to deliver timely, efficient, and professional care to the patients.
- Utilize our EHR system (eClinicalWorks) to input patient data to ensure accuracy of patient information, records, and billing.
- Communicate with other stakeholders such as other medical providers and attorneys to share patient information and provide periodic updates.
- Other responsibilities and duties may be required to be performed as part of this role at the discretion of Thrive Ortho & Spine Management.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
- A Massachusetts PA or NP license is required.
- Must have no exceptions to PA or NP license, and be able to administer pharmaceuticals, perform medication reconciliation, and any nursing procedures or special treatments needed within the scope of nursing practice for state.
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least 3-5 years of experience.
- Fully fluent in Spanish and English (written and oral) is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and compassion towards patients and other stakeholders with a pleasant personality.
- Comfort working with or learning our EHR system, eClinicalWorks.
- Must have no restrictions to work in the state of MA.
- Must be willing to travel in the greater Atlanta area and hold a valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands/Requirements
- Constantly stands within a given day while conducting work functions such as providing patient care, documenting, cleaning, and interacting with patients and coworkers.
- Constant use of fingers and hands in a manner of reaching, grasping, fingering, and/or feeling when providing patient care, documenting, and cleaning.
- Audio acuity in order to correctly distinguish various body sounds (i.e., respirations, heart tones, bowel sounds), discern sounds made by various types of machinery or equipment that would indicate dangerous or improper operation, and to hear normal conversations and receive ordinary information through verbal communication.
- Visual acuity in order to correctly distinguish skin tone variations, and able to read blood pressure gauges, and other medical instruments.
- Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls up to 40 lbs. of materials and/or medical equipment.
- Frequently stooping, climbing, kneeling, twisting, or reaching within a given day while conducting direct patient care.
- Occasionally running to respond to patient emergencies.
