Join us for a special screening of Dr. Susan Hagedorn's new documentary, Inventing the Nurse Practitioner in America, followed by a Q&A panel and reception.
In the 1960s, nursing and public health came together to change the face of healthcare delivery and administration. This film shows the trajectory of a revolution in which nurses rose up to demonstrate that they are a vital social, cultural, and political force that re-envisioned and re-purposed "doctor's orders" for the greater good. The film features appearances by NYU Meyers faculty nurse practitioners Jamesetta Newland and Madeleine Lloyd.
Screening will start at 5:00pm, followed by Q&A and reception at 6:00pm.
