NPNY seeking board member nominations!

NPNY is currently seeking nominations !!!
All positions are a 2-3 year obligation (depending on the position) which is in line with the time frame for credentialing credit. No experience is necessary in these positions as the current board will train as needed. Most positions require a 6-8 hour or less monthly commitment, which includes our month CE events. Board and committee members are required to attend 3 board meetings, usually held in the spring, summer and fall.

All elect positions serve as an apprenticeship period for the primary board role. Nominations (including self nominations) are open for:

PRESIDENT ELECT

  • The President shall be the principal volunteer executive officer of NPNY, leading and supervising NPNY business.

TREASURER

  • The Treasurer shall supervise the collection and disbursement of all NPNY funds and perform other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall also prepare a budget for presentation and approval at the annual retreat.

TREASURER ELECT

  • Same as Treasurer description.

SECRETARY ELECT

  • The Secretary shall keep the minutes of meetings of the membership and the Board of Directors. The Secretary shall also be responsible for correspondence as deemed necessary.

PROGRAM/EDUCATION CHAIR ELECT

  • The Chairperson shall plan the continuing education (CE) programs and special events for NPNY.

ADVOCACY AND POLICY CHAIR ELECT

  • The Chairperson shall plan and carry out the legislative activities of NPNY and advance the interests of underrepresented groups in our society.

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR ELECT

  • The Chairperson shall carry out activities to encourage participation and membership in NPNY and NPNY's public relations activities.

COMMUNICATION COMMITTEE CHAIR ELECT

  • The Chairperson shall carry out NPNY's strategies for communicating with its membership, the general public, and public relation activities. Active knowledge of social media is a plus.

BOARD MEMBER (3 OPEN POSITIONS)

  • The Board Members shall be available to assist officers as directed by the President and may serve as chairs of the standing committees.
