Dear NPNY members,
On behalf of the leadership, we would like to give a warm congratulations to our very own Annie Lu serving as Secretary as the recipient of the 2019 NPNY Ruddy -Van Slyke NP of distinction award!
Annie Lu was nominated by Susan Moscou, Myrna Stephens, and Lisa Paplanus. Annie is a valuable member of the NPNY organization. Ms. Lu was the NPNY president for many years beyond the term limit because there were no volunteers for this position. Ms.Lu felt it was important to remain as president until another member stepped forward. Remaining in this position demonstrates Ms. Lu commitment to NPNY as well as to the profession. Ms. Lu has a distinguished record in diabetes research and recently shared her expertise at our Saturday conference on November 3, 2019. Program attendees raved about Ms. Lu's presentation. Ms. Lu has advanced the role of nurse practitioners in many ways. Ms. Lu is active in advocacy activities (e.g., lobby day) that bring awareness to our profession.
Additionally, Ms. Lu’s CV illustrates her scholarly work as well as her commitment to the profession. She represents the outstanding members that NPNY has cultivated and continues to play an active role in the organization, which demonstrates why Ms. Lu received the Ruddy Van-Slyke NP of Distinction Award.
She is a distinguished certified Nurse Practitioner with a long history of professional and clinical competence. Ms. Lu is committed to providing and improving the delivery of health care to the Asian community. Ms. Lu provided professional and managerial leadership during her tenure as the president of NPNY.
It is with great honor that we congratulate Annie Lu on her outstanding work ethic and commitment to Nurse Practitioners!
