Pediatric NACCD Advisory Nomination

Dear NPNY members, 

National Advisory Committee on Children and Disasters Nomination Period Is Open

On May 27, 2020, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) opened the application process for the newly created National Advisory Committee on Children and Disasters (NACCD). The goal of NACCD is to "provide advice and consultation to the HHS Secretary on pediatric medical disaster planning, preparedness, response, and recovery with respect to the medical and public health needs of children in relation to disasters." HHS is currently soliciting nominations for 13 advisory committee members with experience with pediatric medical disaster planning. This is a self-nomination process and the application will be open until June 27, 2020. Information regarding the nomination process can be found here. We encourage members to self-nominate and to share this information with other nurse practitioners (NPs) who would be interested in this opportunity. If you decide to self-nominate or know an NP who does, please notify AANP via email at governmentaffairs@aanp.org to ensure we can track these nominations.
