New York Bill Aims to Remove Administrative Barriers to Care and NP Practice
Introduced on August 21, Senate Bill 8936 seeks to retire the career-long requirement for NPs to maintain a collaborative relationship with a physician or hospital after having completed 3,600 hours of practice. In addition, it would remove the requirement that NPs with less than 3,600 practice hours file written practice protocols with the state and would allow an NP with 3,600 practice hours to serve as a collaborating provider.
